A free French shareware build is live. 1,000 sentences from Mozilla's Common Voice corpus, bundled English translations, 100% offline once downloaded. Same spaced-repetition engine as the Romanian build.
Download for macOS →French has one of the largest Common Voice corpora of any language — over 70,000 validated sentences with native speaker recordings. That volume matters: the algorithm needs enough material to keep presenting genuinely unfamiliar sentences as your coverage improves. With 70K sentences you won't exhaust the corpus in any realistic practice timeline.
The shareware build ships 1,000 sentences, which is enough to run several weeks of real sessions before you'd want more. The full 70,000-sentence build exists and can be shared directly on request.
Romanian is the only language where the developer has personally reached C1 using this method and can speak to the outcome from experience. For French — and German, Italian, English — the corpus, algorithm, and audio quality are the same. The method is the same. What we can't honestly claim yet is a personal result. That caveat stands until someone reaches fluency and reports back.
Italian and English shareware are also built and working — they'll be listed publicly shortly. The PWA at /play is currently Romanian-only; multi-language support there is the next infrastructure piece.
